I don’t think that Ubl’s post today is going to wash away the bad feelings that many have about AMP. There’s just too much wrapped up in it. AMP has served as a vessel for worries about Google’s power over the web, the dicey future of news publishing, and whatever general angst we all feel about the sorry state of most mobile webpages. Most of these concerns have been fair, but there hasn’t been enough momentum for a more open alternative. With this move, Google seems to be trying to create one.
Great salespeople always try to increase the sales total once the customer has selected their main item or product. Think sheets for a bed, purse for a dress, belt for jeans, compost for a tree. Adding-on isn’t anything for a salesperson to feel guilty about. As a salesperson, that’s their job—as long as they’re honest – there’s that word again – and sell items that provide value.

There a few strategies up you can use to incorporate videos in your emails. If you’re able to tackle a more technical process, you might want to try embedding videos directly into your email. This makes it more convenient for people opening the email and viewing your video, reducing barriers. However, it does run the risk of your emails being sent to spam by some email providers. To avoid this, you can create a thumbnail image of the video and link to the video on your website or on a landing page instead.

Browsers cache a lot of information (stylesheets, images, JavaScript files, and more) so that when a visitor comes back to your site, the browser doesn't have to reload the entire page. Use a tool like YSlow to see if you already have an expiration date set for your cache. Then set your "expires" header for how long you want that information to be cached. In many cases, unless your site design changes frequently, a year is a reasonable time period. Google has more information about leveraging caching here.
