Using Facebook Live as a promotional tool is another proven way to get in front of your audience candidly and add a more humanized approach to your marketing strategy. Many companies are using Facebook Live as a way to promote new products or launches, share stories with their audience, and hold Q&A sessions to create more transparency and close the communication gap between themselves and their users.
Over the past few weeks I notice something – I need to be more specific on where I come in. I was always reluctant on aggressive talking and that has left it’s marks in my marketing attempts. And as you mentioned David Ogilvy “When you advertise fire-extinguishers, open with the fire” and that I was way too shy to do. I am sure with that professional knowledge and life experiences I could do better.
If you sell B2B, it’s usually fairly clear that your best buyers are the biggest companies. So what are you doing, every other week, no matter what, to let these companies know who you are? There’s no one you can’t get to as long as you constantly market to them, especially after they say they’re not interested. People will not only begin to respect your perseverance, they will actually begin to feel obligated.
Traveling businessmen and businesswomen frequently work with Spanish-speaking colleagues, and while they have a little Spanish, they don’t speak it very well and feel partly stuck or even inept when forced to use the language. Some of these people even have Spanish-speaking girlfriends/boyfriends/spouses, and they want to be able to communicate with their in-laws.
It is estimated that consumers are 75% of the way to making their decision to buy from your brand before they ever begin to check out. Thus, it is critical to address all issues and FAQs on your website to make it easy for customers to move from consideration to conversion. Product “how to” guides, showcases, and solutions to common “pain points,” can be used to provide your leads with the information they need to know that will make or break their purchase decision.
I used to give lower rates to non-profits and churches and it ended up hurting my bottom line because I also worked with bigger companies doing the same sort of work. I ended up realizing I was delivering the same value to both. The question you need to ask yourself, unless you’re only targeting churches and non-profits is, would you do the same work for a non-profit as you would for a larger company that would pay you more?

At the top of the funnel, no one knows who you are — sure, maybe your mom and a few potential customers know you, but the point of this stage is to get your name out there. You want to create buzz around your product or simply credibility around your brand. This is where you want to spend some time thinking about your personal brand. I’ve helped countless entrepreneurs go from bland to brand on the Internet, and let me tell you, it’s a game of followers, social media influence, and massive online publishing (be it articles like this one and otherwise). Some have even brought on our publicist as a way to get TV placements.
We take after sales support very seriously. If you ever have a problem using FastEye, all you need to do is hit the Chat bot on your dashboard and our support agent will be there to help you with anything (well as long as it’s related to Fasteye. I mean, you can try discussing your personal problems as well – but I doubt these guys are good at that – trust me…I tired :))

There is a tutorial on the A List Apart website that discussed how to go about creating a completely fluid/scalable website, much like you would have with an old school table but instead built entirely with divs. I had been desperate to try this in a live production site for some time, and the hobo blog provided me with this opportunity. Grab the corner of your browser window and resize the website to watch the elements flow around each other.
Thank you for the article. I’m writing the business requirement document for a corporate website and would like to specify page load speed benchmarks on both desktop and mobile devices. Do I need to specify the lowest network speed (we are global site) to make sure the website performs well in majority of cases? Where can I get some examples of network speed in various geographies?

By now, your customers trust you (as they should!). They’ve received all the benefits from the top of the funnel (the freebie they registered for on your website), and the middle of the funnel (be it emails with great content from you or otherwise), and they have some sense of who you are as a person. This is where you ask for the sale (hello, bottom of your funnel!). You want to continue to engage, of course, but you also want to offer something of even more value to your customers.

In our fast-paced world, everyone wants instant results. We want our food prepared faster, we want to communicate with people instantly, and we often get impatient when it takes longer than five seconds for a website to load. The same can be said for those who want to increase the number of sales generated from their website. But as Beverly Sills said, “There are no shortcuts to any place worth going.”
Headquartered in Rockwall, Texas thirty miles east of Downtown Dallas, Sales Tax and More works with clients of all sizes and in all industries as well as with CPAs, bookkeepers, and attorneys. Whether you are a local small business, an eCommerce seller, or a large multi-state entity with complex needs, or have any of these types of clients, we have the experience, knowledge, tools and resources to make your tax burden lighter or solve your problems.
Problem: Entrepreneurs are working around the clock, spending their days putting out fires, and running in circles on the hamster wheel and they can’t escape the madness. They end up volunteering their time and not getting paid enough for the value they are bringing. They have maybe hit a plateau in their biz and can’t bust through to the next level.
Perfect – just for me: “If you’re selling art, show a picture of a room with no art on the walls..” I’ve always just shown how great it can look – the “after” photo. When relaunching soon with art prints I thought of doing some posts with before/after scenarios – but now I’m thinking the whole shoot I’m going to make – needs to focus on this – and become the main showcases – when entering my site.
I can see that Optimizely is using a simple landing page with a 15-minute demo for the conversion. I could model this for my campaign. You can also set up alerts in SEMrush to get notified when a competitor changes the landing page. If you see a competitor using the same page for extended periods of time, it could indicate a high-converting template you should be replicating. Eliminate the guesswork 🙂
The relationship elements between website usability and customer loyalty are tied down to website KPIs, including page speed, load time and website responsiveness to user requests. A hypothetical model of website speed optimization puts these elements into consideration, with characteristics such as Site Trust, Interactivity and Information relevance considered as a subset of website usability by end-users.
Re-target website visitors who don't convert the first time. You won't be able to capture lead information for all of your website visitors, but that doesn't mean you should give up on the visitors who don't convert. Consider running a retargeting campaign so you can display advertisements on popular websites which will display only to people who visited your website. This will give you another chance to draw them back in.
Personally I use plastic funnels wiped clean after each use with a disposable rag from Rags in a Box, stored in a loosely tied grocery bag for each. One for fresh motor oil, one for used motor oil, ATF, PS fluid, gear oil, etc., and one with a long skinny neck for fresh ATF. I carry a second long skinny neck plastic funnel in my truck so I can add any needed fluid cleanly but it hasn't been used yet.
Big Problem: Are you wanting to restore youth back into your smile? Have you lost your youthful pearly whites due to lifelong habits such as coffee drinking or smoking, to name a few? Is your At Home Teeth Whitening System robbing you of your freedom by holding you prisoner to a teeth whitening tray for hours a day several days a week just to end up with mediocre results? Can you not fathom forking over $800+ and 2 hours of your time to a dentist to end up with sensitive teeth and bright white molars you can’t even see?
69% of industrial company marketers report at best they are neither satisfied and at worst, extremely dissatisfied with online marketing efforts according to the 2014 Trends in Industrial Marketing (learned that from you :). The trouble is many manufacturers don’t know how to use online tools to achieve company goals such as customer engagement, retention, lead generation, etc.

The problem with this change? 2016 was two full years ago, and even though we were all warned to think mobile-first, advertisers forged ahead, bloating our responsive landing pages with massive high-res images, and animations. We were simply shrinking heavy content for small screen sizes. In turn, everyone’s mobile pages loaded turtle-slow (leaving visitors bouncing).

The action stage of the marketing funnel is where you reassure your audience that they are making the right decision. You have done most of the work and you’ve earned your role as a trusted advisor. You can now make a recommendation and be heard without them questioning your intentions. The value proposition and the action that you are requesting will vary depending on what you are trying to accomplish.
I’ve heard a lot of talk over the last couple of years about the sales funnel being dead. What a load of nonsense. It’s not that long ago these sorts were telling us SEO is dead or – more recently – that web design is dead. Jackie Chan has also died multiple times over the last couple of years but I have my doubts about this, too, unless he has at least one identical twin who also happens to be versed in multiple forms of martial arts.
Mediocre web hosts selling cost-effective services continue to maximize profitability by hosting thousands of websites on single instances of bloated Apache stacks. Un-optimized servers running thousands of public websites on a single server stack is particularly harmful to ecommerce websites characterized by uncontrollable web traffic spikes, multimedia content and large website files.
We’ll assume there is no need to explain the impact of content (and by that I mean not just any kind of content) in a content marketing funnel, and also that content marketing isn’t just writing blog posts. This is the misconception many business owners, even some marketers, still have. Claiming that content marketing is just another word for blogging is, well, wrong. Blogging is definitely a part of content marketing, but there is much more involved.
That was an interesting article. I was looking on your page of scheduled webinars, and what about offering a webinar on segmenting your list? It seems that to use the marketing funnel idea you need to segment subscribers, so you’re not sending new subscribers something that should go to your “Advocates”. I’d love to see a webinar that really goes over how to use the funnel & segmenting together. Thanks.

Dear Derek, Thank you for a great article. However, I am more used to videos and now I see how lazy I am to read :D. I am definitely going to include video in my new website. I am a career coach (12 years of experience in HR) and business consultant (8 years as a business owner). I struggle how to communicate it on my website as these are 2 target groups (employees/business owners.)

System 1 is prone to substituting a difficult question with a simpler one. In what Kahneman calls their "best-known and most controversial" experiment, "the Linda problem," subjects were told about an imaginary Linda, young, single, outspoken, and very bright, who, as a student, was deeply concerned with discrimination and social justice. They asked whether it was more probable that Linda is a bank teller or that she is a bank teller and an active feminist. The overwhelming response was that "feminist bank teller" was more likely than "bank teller," violating the laws of probability. (Every feminist bank teller is a bank teller.) In this case System 1 substituted the easier question, "Is Linda a feminist?", dropping the occupation qualifier. An alternative view is that the subjects added an unstated cultural implicature to the effect that the other answer implied an exclusive or (xor), that Linda was not a feminist.[3]

This is an important concept to have in mind when navigating a negotiation or considering a price. As an example, most people, when asked whether Gandhi was more than 114 years old when he died, will provide a much larger estimate of his age at death than others who were asked whether Gandhi was more or less than 35 years old. Experiments show that our behavior is influenced, much more than we know or want, by the environment of the moment.

Page speed, in particular, fills the void in enhancing marketability by improving website user experience to keep impatient online customers engaged and satisfied. A recent research report published by O’Reilly concludes improvements in website end-user experience by reducing page load time boost sales and conversion rates significantly. The staggering statistics are as follows:
Mailing List: It is essential to ask buyers to sign up to your mailing list when they do make a purchase. And it is crucial to make sure you offer them a good incentive for doing so. Give a free gift or a discount to everyone who signs up during checkout. Ensure you tell them the value they will gain from doing so. If you are going to send them regular content covering various topics, make this clear, and explain how they could benefit from the type of content you will send them. At DirectIQ we provide a variety of ready-made templates for sending weekly newsletters and marketing emails to your customers to ensure they are consistently engaged by your brand.

SOLUTION: I offer a Professional Coaching package that gets you to the interview faster, avoid excessive cyber space time, and connect with employers. I take you through a 4-6 week process that streamlines the job search process through homework, one on one coaching sessions, AND I provide a Professional resume package that targets what you can offer the employer, and presents you in the best light.

By harnessing the power of social media, getting people to share your content, you can take advantage of the legitimacy of “word-of-mouth” that traditional advertising often lacks. Share your content with relevant communities on social media, chat with like-minded individuals and provide solutions to issues within and surrounding your industry to reflect your expertise. Building a presence on social media is all about giving your audience value. What could you provide more information on that would add value to your audience’s perception of your brand?
Our Kid’s Responsibility & Money Management printables pack which will walk parents through the steps of raising autonomous, hard-working, charitable, and money-savvy kids. Kit includes family job sheets, $ job sheets, morning routine charts, evening routine charts, allowance ledgers, printable spend/save/share piggy bank labels and a savings goal sheet.
Establish a reason for follow-up. Your customers are busy and multitasking every day.  It’s your job to grab their attention quickly. The best way to do this is to reference a past conversation and mirror the words your potential customer used during your sales call. For example, if you learned that they're struggling to lose 15 pounds before a high school reunion, then you would reference that in the opening of the follow-up after a friendly greeting.
Let the Network Carry the Load – If your site is extremely popular but you’re still having trouble getting your page load down to size, consider a Content Delivery Network (CDN) like Amazon Cloudfront. Content Delivery Networks work by serving pages depending on where the user is located. Faster access to a server near their geographical area means they get the site to load sooner.
Problem: NP’s notoriously fall prey to paying what are often exorbitant fees for online auction services, often from 15% – 50% of their auction proceeds (problem #1, the charitable cause ends up with less than 100% of their auction revenues) . Worse, these fees are really paid by their auction winners (the source of the auction proceeds), but the money is siphoned off the winners’ bids without their knowledge or consent. If bidders new this, they would likely be upset at best, or feel alienated, at worst (problem #2).
Email marketing is still a very viable method of digital marketing and produces one of the top ROI across all marketing methods. However, you can’t do any email marketing without email addresses, right? By creating methods to capture a visitor’s email address, you create an opportunity to invite them back to your website through email marketing campaigns.
Only 10 percent of the waiting period is defined by the HTML response to browser requests, and the remaining 90 percent of the delay is caused in rendering pages, parsing HTML, executing code scripts and retrieving embedded assets. Website performance overhaul with optimization tools and script tweaks can scrape off sizeable chunks from page load times, but perhaps not as effectively as developing a speed optimized website from scratch. And the latter is more of a marketing strategy, a business decision and slight awareness in avoiding the most common mistakes that can potentially ruin online businesses by killing website performance.

Businesses built around one or two customers that aren’t looking expand should focus on building out the loyalty phase of the sales funnel. However, a CRM is best for managing the customer’s journey for businesses that want to create the best possible experience during each stage of the process in order to increase your number of sales, as they provide tools to help you automate and scale your sales funnel activities.
Problem: we live in a world that doesn’t teach us how to manage stress and how to be healthy. 90% of the people I come across are depressed,, unhealthy and unhappy with every aspect of their lives. They are waiting for something miraculous to happen so that they can finally be happy and feel better about themselves and their lives. They live the same routine every single day and are miserable with the lives they have settled for. They all want to feel better and be healthy emotionally, mentally and physically.
If they commit they would get me as their coach/ accountability partner and a program that is guaranteed to help them get healthier and lose weight. I also offer monthly challenge groups to where they work with more than one person on FB with the same workout program and are all on the same schedule and focusing on the same goals. I will also be there to hold them accountable , give them tips, and be their cheerleader as needed!
"Social media has one very important perspective to share with brand management - the conversation. Like branding, social media is all about the conversation and building effective relationships. They are perfectly suited to one another," says Roach, the author of The Reluctant Salesperson, a free e-book available at www.thebrandingexperts.ca. The rules for brand messaging through new media versus traditional channels haven't changed, but "the game sure got better and more interesting," says Roach.
Rapport-building sounds so technical and de-personal and yet it is the heart of making any human interaction a success. Finding something in common, something not related to the merchandise in front of the customer begins to build rapport. I call it opening a Window of Contact which requires a salesperson to notice something physical like jewelry, clothing, even the type of smartphone the person in front of them has. The salesperson then comments on that item with a question and shares something related about themselves based on what that customer answered.
Your site kind of does the same thing, suggesting that a person’s “e-course sucks.” You actually did what Derek said and state a problem there, but same thing, I could be offended that I’m told my e-course sucks or that my art is boring too. I’m not sure I like stating the problem now. I like how people just see my course idea and get enlightened, there’s no “problems” or put-downs, there’s just new ideas that get one happy and thinking about the possibilities.
This ad from Veeam Software has a very specific offer for a very specific audience. You can tell by the low number of views on the video that it’s targeting a small niche rather than a broad segment. Instead of just selling the fear of losing IT data, which would be more general, it is selling a free 30-day trial of an Oracle database backup suite.
To take the same concept and bring it a bit closer to home, most of what we publish on the Moz Blog is an example of the same kind of top-of-funnel marketing. We don't publish blog posts to convince people they should buy our products. We publish them because we want people to level-up their skills and be better marketers. Our hope is that by participating in our community and reading our blog posts, if you ever find yourself in need of tools for your digital marketing efforts, that we'll be top-of-mind as a reliable choice, just as Theo is top-of-mind for many Seattleites (and now you) when seeking chocolate.
One important warning: Let’s not forget that you are in business. And as a business owner you have something of value to offer your customers in exchange for their cash. That’s a fair and equitable relationship. So please don’t take my nurturing metaphor too far here. Your goal isn’t simply to placate your list — your goal is to build a profitable business that provides VALUE in exchange for VALUE.
Solution: The Nine Steps to Feng Shui(R) System is the easiest way to learn Feng Shui online. The information is presented clearly and in a sequential, by-the-numbers manner, that is easy to understand and apply. My background as an architect assists me in delivering advice that creates healthy environments where people feel happy, comfortable and safe, and that also look great.
Overall, when DOM ready times throughout a visit were slower, people bounced more. Our research found that bounced sessions had DOM ready times that were 55% slower than nonbounced sessions. We also noticed that bounce rates were even higher if the first page in the visit had a significantly slower DOM ready time than the remaining pages. This tells us that first impressions matter: If people's initial experience visiting a site is slow, they're more likely to bounce later. That initial interaction seems to color people's perception of the site and decrease their willingness to be patient throughout the transaction process.
