Here's the cool thing about content marketing: Despite a misconception that it's always a top-of-funnel tactic, content marketing can help reach people at any stage of the funnel, and as those people continue their interactions with your organization, it helps widen the neck of the funnel farther down. And because content is all the words and pictures on (and off of) your site, you have a lot of options to tailor your content marketing message to where your audience is in that funnel. There are four major stages of content marketing, which we thought we'd show in relation to something very familiar—coffee:
By now, your customers trust you (as they should!). They’ve received all the benefits from the top of the funnel (the freebie they registered for on your website), and the middle of the funnel (be it emails with great content from you or otherwise), and they have some sense of who you are as a person. This is where you ask for the sale (hello, bottom of your funnel!). You want to continue to engage, of course, but you also want to offer something of even more value to your customers.

Deep learning—or artificial intelligence—are rapidly becoming a crucial force in marketing. After all, most websites sell a vast number of products; being able to recommend just the right item to a customer is a skill. In some ways, this is the most crucial piece lost when retail transactions move from the brick and mortar store to the web storefront.

Because Norman sells a high-dollar software product that meets a need that most businesses are familiar with, he decides that it’s easier to focus on attracting and converting customers who already know that they need his product, rather than trying to create the need in the first place. If he was a startup or a company with a new idea, he might choose to invest more of his time and energy here.
For us non-developers, AMP HTML is essentially a modified version of standard HTML, preventing us from creating pages that load slowly. Marketers can sometimes be guilty of designing beautiful pages with crisp, high-res images, parallax elements, and every tracking script under the sun. We love it, but that person looking for the closest place to fix their flat tire? Not so much.
Activity reminders also help you manage prospects through your sales funnel by not letting important sales activities slip through the cracks. Most CRMs come with activity reminders that can help you stay on top things. Pipedrive’s activity reminder and notification features remind you of important prospect-related activities. You can create sales funnel activities and then create reminders or notifications related to those activities.
eCommerce is one of the most rapidly evolving areas of sales tax and will be for years to come. We are one of the foremost thought leaders in the field and can help you navigate this tumultuous sea of change. We have services for Amazon sellers as well as those selling on other platforms. We can help you determine where you should register to collect sales tax, perform registrations, do your returns and configure your platforms
No matter what kind of purchase we’re making or how much we intend to spend, all of us follow a relatively similar path when it comes to deciding what to buy. This buying process was first introduced by John Dewey in 1910, but even now — more than 100 years later — it’s still the foundation of understanding buyer behavior and marketing funnel creation.
Love the focus on solving the pain. I am thinking that our message may not be specific enough. The problem: Canada’s new anti-spam law makes MANY normal business communications spam. Our solution: “Protect your business with solutions & strategies for Canada’s new anti-spam law. We give five free “How to” Guides when you sign up for our newsletter. Are we being specific enough in identifying the pain point? Any small business is affected and needs help.
Time in stage – In an ideal world, your marketing content would be so compelling that people move from the top stage to the bottom in a single day. But since that’s rarely the case, it’s worthwhile to know if your prospects are getting hung up in one of your stages. If so, you’ll want to add more content to your site that answers the questions that are unique to this stage of the funnel.

Here’s an example. To create your prospect experience in the Awareness stage, think about and articulate what you will do or say to your prospects when you first meet them. Then think about how your interaction will make them feel. Consider your prospects and their needs as you’re doing this. Then, document your actions and your prospect’s experience for this stage. Repeat this throughout the entire sales funnel.

BIG PROBLEM: being pregnant in America is overwhelming and confusing. The mainstream culture is one in which women are often not listened to, respected, or heard in regards to their wishes about pregnancy care and birth experiences. Pregnant women want to be the decision-makers in their birth experience, but often get derailed by providers, friends, and family.
Learn the secrets to creating highly persuasive online growth systems which are proven (we actually do this stuff), sustainable (nothing "blackhat"), and personalized (based on where you are at today). We publish quality resources as well as paid training products to accelerate your success with sales funnels, increasing traffic with content, building your email list, or growing your client and product conversion rate.
Sales funnels are important so that you stay focused on carrying out the right sales activities at the right time in the prospect relationship. If you’re in the Awareness phase, you are engaging in prospecting or lead generation activities. If you’re in the Evaluation phase, you are sending your customers quotes or proposals so they can evaluate their options and ultimately make a purchase. Sales funnels serve as reminders of what needs to be done and when.
Database optimization revolves around getting rid of garbage data and useless content from cluttered databases, shrinking them in size and making it easier for website hosting servers to fetch requested content efficiently, within minimum processing cycles. This can also involve ensuring that you are using InnoDB for your MySQL database tables, as opposed to MyISAM. Learn how to convert myISAM to InnoDB.
I’ve heard a lot of talk over the last couple of years about the sales funnel being dead. What a load of nonsense. It’s not that long ago these sorts were telling us SEO is dead or – more recently – that web design is dead. Jackie Chan has also died multiple times over the last couple of years but I have my doubts about this, too, unless he has at least one identical twin who also happens to be versed in multiple forms of martial arts.
Why is the set of steps to conversion called a “funnel”? Because at the beginning of the process, there are a lot of people who take the first step. Then, as the people continue along and take the next steps, some of them drop out, and the size of the crowd thins or narrows. (And even further along in the process, your sales team gets involved to help close the deal.)
Takeaway: As a site owner, you can tackle this problem by setting performance budgets for pages. This means, for example, you could decide you want your site to load within three seconds (the "budget" of each page). Using that benchmark, you can cull unnecessary page elements that cause the load time to exceed that limit. You can also audit and monitor all the third-party scripts on your site that affect your mobile page speed.
Business owners who are great at their craft but not at online marketing. Customers now search online way more than search in the yellow pages and that’s a problem. The business owners are left in the dust and replaced by national companies, who have the money and staff to market themselves but who more-often mess up a job. It’s sad because they just can afford to provide bad customer service when a local guy isn’t in the picture at all.
OK, here’s the problem: Expectant parents want a healthy, safe, and positive childbirth experience for themselves and their babies, but navigating maternity care, understanding their rights and options, and understanding the process of labor and birth and how to best work with the body aren’t skills most people have without specific childbirth education and support. Expectant fathers are often nervous about their role and providing labor support, and the plethora of information on the internet can be very confusing.

Solution: My online program, The Working Artist, will give them the nuts and bolts of how to build an art career and teach the secrets of selling art. I’ve spent my career in the art business and understand exactly how it works. I’ve taught artists around the world how to move from starving to thriving. It’s not easy but I truly believe that any artist can succeed, if they are willing to do the work. And that’s why I call my program The Working Artist.
Thanks, awesome article! My business does solve a big problem, but I had never thought to state on the website which problem it solves! Even though I’m passionate about opening with the problem when talking to people, it just didn’t occur to me to put it on the website. This is so timely because I’m making a bunch of changes to my website anyway, so I’ll talk about the problem I solve right away. Thanks for your helpful advice.
Important: During the keyword research phase of the paid campaign setup, you’ll want to add negative keywords. These stop you from paying for irrelevant ad impressions, or exposure to an unqualified audience. For example, a super broad term like “conversion rate” could be related to money instead of marketing optimization, so you’d want to set “currency” as a negative keyword.
If you try to opt-in with the same information to get another video, they ask you to sign up again. I believe that is their process. Like I said, that creates some friction. Yes, you can enter a fake email, but, if you believe in the quality of the content (and it is really good content; Andrew is one of the best interviewers on the Internet), you won’t.
Finding a product or service to solve a problem or fill a need is easier than ever in today’s online world. You can simply search, ask a few friends or look on social media platforms that you trust for comments about the company or product. Because of this, it’s important that your message stands out from the rest so that your prospect is drawn to you to solve their needs. Getting your potential customers choose you begin with a unique first impression.
Entry sources – Monitoring the sources from which people are entering your funnel can be useful data to track, as it gives you ideas for expanding the reach of your marketing campaigns. If, for example, you see that a large number of your prospects are coming from a single guest blog post you did, seeking out similar guest author positions can be an easy way to increase your overall sales.
Headquartered in Rockwall, Texas thirty miles east of Downtown Dallas, Sales Tax and More works with clients of all sizes and in all industries as well as with CPAs, bookkeepers, and attorneys. Whether you are a local small business, an eCommerce seller, or a large multi-state entity with complex needs, or have any of these types of clients, we have the experience, knowledge, tools and resources to make your tax burden lighter or solve your problems.
a) Logo development & Business Consulting: A business without a brand is just another “someone” out there. Put a face to the business and bring it to life with a well designed business logo. Consulting at a fixed rate for small business start-ups (Costs are on par with the government subsidy for small businesses but more detailed and less paperwork).
Mailing List: It is essential to ask buyers to sign up to your mailing list when they do make a purchase. And it is crucial to make sure you offer them a good incentive for doing so. Give a free gift or a discount to everyone who signs up during checkout. Ensure you tell them the value they will gain from doing so. If you are going to send them regular content covering various topics, make this clear, and explain how they could benefit from the type of content you will send them. At DirectIQ we provide a variety of ready-made templates for sending weekly newsletters and marketing emails to your customers to ensure they are consistently engaged by your brand.
In fact, more than 80 percent of people look for recommendations before purchasing a product, according to research by Business 2 Community. And Nielsen reports that 84% of people trust the recommendations of friends and family over marketing campaigns. That makes personal referrals the highest ranked source for trustworthiness when it comes to making a purchase.
Traveling businessmen and businesswomen frequently work with Spanish-speaking colleagues, and while they have a little Spanish, they don’t speak it very well and feel partly stuck or even inept when forced to use the language. Some of these people even have Spanish-speaking girlfriends/boyfriends/spouses, and they want to be able to communicate with their in-laws.

When I first wrote this article in 2011, I mentioned how the marketing copy for Crazy Egg’s heat-mapping feature could have been stronger by better explaining how the tool helps customers to increase conversions. While this information is clearer now thanks to the detailed visuals and simple copy layout that allows the reader to skim and scan — it could be better by explaining a bit more.
Then you have a thank you page. This shows your appreciation for your customer, while also encouraging a deeper relationship with your business. For example, someone gave you their email on the Leadbox™ in exchange for a free eBook. You can now have a page that thanks them for signing up, gives them the eBook, and encourages them to purchase the associated workbook that enhances their eBook purchase. Watch Hubspot’s tutorial to create a thank you page that nurtures leads.
SOLUTION: Sounds like you have the makings of a story box – we can frame the pipe, the military pins & awards, some photos, and perhaps even a letter or two. Bring everything to the frame shop, we can look at everything, decide which pieces tell the best story, then design a display the honors your grandfather. Having this hanging in your home will also encourage conversations about him and that time.
So either you buy a Landing Page builder (which does not have copywriting packages integrated – no other tool does) or if sometime back if you had bought a Landing Page builder, you go to the control panel of your computer, find it, open it, and start watching the tutorials on how to use this apparently Easy to use (but outdated and in reality really complicated) tool.

Takeaway: To make sure that your mobile page speed is as fast as possible, confirm that your images are formatted correctly. For example, saving a simple graphic as a JPEG rather than a PNG can cut its file size by more than half. Images should also be compressed and resized. There are advanced optimization techniques for those who want to squeeze as much performance juice from their images as possible.
If they commit they would get me as their coach/ accountability partner and a program that is guaranteed to help them get healthier and lose weight. I also offer monthly challenge groups to where they work with more than one person on FB with the same workout program and are all on the same schedule and focusing on the same goals. Clearly, the idea was genius and never died—it just took on new forms over the years as the marketing universe changed. The early model has been modified over the past decades by marketing consultants and academics to cater to the changing marketplace. Several variations on the theme have been created to accommodate the emerging modes of marketing—especially, digital marketing.
Another way you can drive more sales through social media is by encouraging your customers to share their photos online. Also, be sure to go one step further by sharing these user-generated photos on your own social media profiles. This is an easy way to increase loyalty with your existing customers, and to add credibility to your brand whenever potential customers visit your social media profiles.
It’s important to note that there is not a single agreed upon version of the funnel; some have many “stages” while others have few, with different names and actions taken by the business and consumer for each. In the diagram below, we’ve done our best to pull out the most common and relevant funnel stages, terms, and actions so this information is useful to as many marketers as possible.

Most likely, your customer is now at a point of decision. It’s your job to offer them something so valuable they’re compelled to take action right now. One way to do this is through a webinar that ends with a call-to-action. Let’s say your webinar is about “How to Get in Shape.” At the end of the webinar, you might offer a low introductory price for a membership to your online fitness classes. You might also create sales pages or sales emails. How you do this is up to you. The point is to continue offering amazing content to your customers. And, of course, to close the deal with a sale.
MailChimp is a freemium email marketing tool. Similar to Wufoo, they offer a free plan (good through 2,000 contacts). A bit of background: MailChimp grew their business significantly when they decided to go freemium. How? At the bottom of every email, it would say something like Powered by MailChimp. Every customer email sent helped to spread the word. It created a kind of viral loop.

“We inundate our sales teams with new technologies all the time, hoping that at least one of them will enable our sellers to make quota. Imagine what would happen if we gave people a real silver bullet—more time. That’s exactly what Jill Konrath offers in her new book. She lays out the tools and tactics salespeople can use to do more in a day and achieve their goals.”

The idea of using a funnel as a metaphor for Sales & Marketing processes in business really stems from the classic Marketing concept, AIDA. Attention, Interest, Desire, Action. These 4 elements generally describe how you build customer relationships, but they can also describe lots of other things too (like how to structure a really good sales letter or sales pitch).
The competition to capture the attention of mobile users is even more intense due to slow loading mobile websites and lower visitor patience levels. 60 percent of mobile users expect mobile websites to load within 3 seconds. And on average, 3 in 4 people will abandon a mobile website if it takes any longer than 5 seconds to load, whereas an average mobile takes even longer periods of 6-10 seconds to load.
If they commit they would get me as their coach/ accountability partner and a program that is guaranteed to help them get healthier and lose weight. I also offer monthly challenge groups to where they work with more than one person on FB with the same workout program and are all on the same schedule and focusing on the same goals. I will also be there to hold them accountable , give them tips, and be their cheerleader as needed!

Sign up forms and analytics code add only a few lines to website core files. But when too many single-lines of code take space on the website back-end, web content assets and plugins with lengthy code end up competing for tiny memory spaces in short processing cycles. As a result, the popular physics phenomenon of non-linearity kicks in, and each component performs unpredictably, usually consuming more processing cycles than expected.

I know many people do. I can’t say I have had as many troubles as some. But I understand the point. Terry Cable has come up with a solution in the form of a beautiful machined aluminum cap and threaded insert. The installation is fairly straight forward. The threaded insert sets into the opening in the tank and is held in place by a number of very tiny set screws. It took me two tries to figure out how it all goes. The main thing to remember is that the set screws do not actually thread into anything. On my first try, I did not have the insert turned far enough and the screws were trying to push into the existing plastic threads. But once I figured it out, it was all smashing. They are very tiny screws, as is the wrench that comes with them. It is a good idea to tape the mouth of the tank while working on everything. I dropped the key into the tank by accident. Fortunately it was easy to fish out with my extension magnet. Once everything is installed, it all works very slick. The new cap takes a firm twist to seal completely, but is then leak free. Customers will move on to Stage 5 when the sale is complete. Although we won’t detail it here, Norman should brainstorm the kinds of information these customers will need, as well as how he’ll provide it as part of a cohesive onboarding process. Though he doesn’t need to worry about customers finding him at this stage or moving on to the next one, it’s still important to meet their needs so that they walk away feeling good about their purchase decisions!
The Discovery stage is where your prospect’s interest is piqued. They are curious about your company and products and want to learn more. In this stage, you are sharing valuable educational content related to your prospect’s problem or need. This stage occurs while you are qualifying your prospect, conducting initial meetings, and defining their needs.
Format Selection: Use JPGs when quality is a high priority and image modifications are not required before uploading it. JPGs can take limited processing and modifications before image quality degrades sharply. For images with icons, logos, illustrations, signs, and text, use PNG format. Use GIFs only for small or simple images and avoid BMPs or TIFFs.

When I wanted to create my first videos, I filmed them myself (even if it took me 18 hours, and it sure did). When I wanted headshots, I took them myself (I spent 45 minutes figuring out how to do one of those “delayed photos,” and ran into place and “hoped” for the best). When I needed a new web design, a new ebook design, transcriptions of videos, and more, I did ALL OF THAT myself too. And I couldn’t help but think, “it sure would be nice to hire experts to handle all of this for me.”
Awareness: Awareness is the uppermost stage of the marketing funnel. Potential customers are drawn into this stage through marketing campaigns and consumer research and discovery. Trust and thought leadership is established with events, advertising, trade shows, content (blog posts, infographics, etc.), webinars, direct mail, viral campaigns, social media, search, media mentions, and more. Here, lead generation takes place, as information is collected and leads are pulled into a lead management system for nurturing further down the funnel.

^ "The salesman should visualize his whole problem of developing the sales steps as the forcing by compression of a broad and general concept of facts through a funnel which produces the specific and favorable consideration of one fact. The process is continually from the general to the specific, and the visualizing of the funnel has helped many salesmen to lead a customer from Attention to Interest, and beyond" (p. 109).

The funnel stages, from broadest to most narrow, are awareness, consideration, preference, action, loyalty and advocacy. Consumers first become aware of a product or service; contemplate a purchase; come to a stage where they have a preference for a brand, model or a competitor; and then actually make the purchase. Following the purchase they become loyal to the brand or company, and then refer or advocate the benefits of their purchase to friends and family.

The marketing funnel is a conceptualization of the steps describing the sales process from start to finish. The term funnel is used to represent the path your audience takes to a buy, with some leaving this trail, deciding not to buy, and others continuing all the way to the checkout. The funnel reflects the narrowing of your potential leads down to the most promising ones over this journey.
Google’s goal is to extend support in features like the Top Stories carousel to AMP-like content that (1) meets a set of performance and user experience criteria and (2) implements a set of new web standards. Some of the proposed standards in the critical path are Feature Policy, Web Packaging, iframe promotion, Performance Timeline, and Paint Timing.
