The idea of using a funnel as a metaphor for Sales & Marketing processes in business really stems from the classic Marketing concept, AIDA. Attention, Interest, Desire, Action. These 4 elements generally describe how you build customer relationships, but they can also describe lots of other things too (like how to structure a really good sales letter or sales pitch).
The first stage in setting up sales funnel reporting is to understand your sales process fully (perhaps using a technique like flowcharting). While sales processes are often quite similar from company-to-company, there can be points of difference depending, for example, on the size of the order and the consequences to the client of making the wrong purchase decision.
Problem: Most people think dehydration is something that would happen if they get lost in the desert and had to go without water for several days. The truth is that chronic (ongoing) dehydration is widespread. Most Americans are in a state of dehydration without even knowing it. According with Dr. Dave Carpenter, N.D. The common symptoms of Dehydration are: fatigue, constipation, digestive disorders, weight gain skin disorders, join problems, premature aging, acid alkaline imbalance…Seems familiar? More and more people of all ages claim this symptoms.
PROBLEM: Professionals are applying online for MANY jobs, spending a LOT of time in cyber space without getting the result of an interview. They are submitting chronological resumes to employers, hoping that the employer will pick through pages of detail to find what is relevant. Out of hundreds of resumes sent, when an interview is secured, they are not prepared to tip the scales in their favor during the interview.
Ed Roach, founder of The Brand Experts, a brand management consultancy in West Leamington, Ontario, goes further to suggests that even if you're not 100 percent comfortable with social media you should make an effort to learn it. Branding strategies have expanded to include smartphones and phone apps, mobile websites and mobile ads as well as social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and Ning.

You gain the prospects interest through an email sequence. You begin to relate stories to them that tie into who you are and how you've arrived to this point in your life. Brunson, in his book, Expert Secrets, calls this the Attractive Character. Are you the reluctant hero whose journey happened almost by mistake, but you feel like you owe it to yourself and the world to convey something of great value?

In the consideration phase, a consumer starts to associate you with the solution you offer. This is the time when you want to supply them with content that helps them evaluate you and your products. At this stage, we're speaking directly to the people we think our business can help and making sure they know how we can help them. Remember that they may not yet trust you, so don't put on your sales hat just yet. Instead, consideration content is a great opportunity to make sure it's easy for your visitor to browse all the information that might help them differentiate you from your competitors.
OK, here’s the problem: Expectant parents want a healthy, safe, and positive childbirth experience for themselves and their babies, but navigating maternity care, understanding their rights and options, and understanding the process of labor and birth and how to best work with the body aren’t skills most people have without specific childbirth education and support. Expectant fathers are often nervous about their role and providing labor support, and the plethora of information on the internet can be very confusing.
In this section Kahneman returns to economics and expands his seminal work on Prospect Theory. He discusses the tendency for problems to be addressed in isolation and how, when other reference points are considered, the choice of that reference point (called a frame) has a disproportionate impact on the outcome. This section also offers advice on how some of the shortcomings of System 1 thinking can be avoided.

Now your marketing automation funnel is giving you a boost at every stage: It responded within five minutes of their first contact, and that helped get you the chance to make your pitch. Now, after the pitch, you're ready to stay in contact and respond to objections in a friendly, targeted way. (And if they love the pitch, automation can help you stay in close touch until closing.)

Mobile is the future of everything wired. Adoption is skyrocketing as the mobile device onslaught looks to encompass the entire human race – 2.32 billion smartphone subscriptions, around thirty percent of the global population in 2017. And the booming tides of stimulating repercussions continue to disturb online businesses barely making inroads into the mobile internet marketing segment.
A marketing funnel controls consumer behavior from a broad to narrow sense. At the wide end of the funnel, consumers become aware of specific brands. Soon they get comfortable and familiar with the brand and begin to develop opinions. Consumers start to feel that the brand is suitable for their needs moving toward the narrow end of the funnel where they select a particular product. At the end of the funnel, consumers shop for the product and make a purchase.
On MailChimp’s pricing page, the focus is on getting you signed up for free, with an email, username, and password. They want to get you up and running and start using the product as soon as possible. They hope you will help them market themselves by using their products and spreading MailChimp further. Email marketing is often a one-too-many communication platform. The more you use it, the more likely you are to upgrade.
Great article Matt! I have a product-based business (skincare to be precise) and I’ve been doing a lot of research on sales funnels over the past few days but only ever come across examples for service-based businesses and struggle to apply those to my business. I do offer a free skincare guide at opt in but can’t think of anything else for the follow up emails to create trust as well as a limited time offer. Would you have any suggestions?
Doing micro jobs is not an easy job, although it is a good source of second income, we need to follow rules and then only we get paid well for the work delivered. They have great rules for both buyers and sellers and they get the equal opportunity to enjoy the full freedom to cancel an order by mutual agreement. It is not that only workers earn good amount but even the company does, because these days no one works for nothing, everyone works for money and hence it is true in case of Damongo too. On every order Damongo will take 15 % which counts for 0.75 cents for every $ 5 of the earnings.
Measuring how well your sales team is converting leads is imperative to determine the quality of leads and individual sales rep’s performance. With a CRM, you can create reports to know how your leads are converting through different stages by sales reps, and by campaign too. Analyzing which leads are moving down the funnel and converting allows you to plan better conversion strategies.
In my case the problem I focus on wellness. More specifically, I work with people who want to feel good and to do it without excessive dependence on medication. I used to be that overly medicated person before I learned new habits that helped me wean off my medication, so I feel a lot of empathy for others suffering from similar conditions and I offer solutions. Right now I offer personal coaching and I teach cooking classes in person or online. I am currently building an online curriculum that includes Skype consultations and a community forum. The online classes make it available to more people who would like to learn the information at their own pace and from anywhere. The personal coaching I received was paramount to my success and it empowered me to keep going and to learn more and to feel more in charge of my personal health. That’s what I offer others through coaching and classes. I’m slowly building a following on my website and different social media platforms. I really want to build a community that feels supported and that supports each other. I appreciate this article and have taken notes going forward.
Issues: My potential customers only cover one state (since state regs differ from one state to another, and I am licensed in my state), far less than the whole world, so limited potential. Also, some inservices (but not all) are provided for free by pharmacies, who offer their inservices free of charge in exchange for the facility using them to supply meds for their residents.

A marketing funnel is a model describing the customer journey from awareness of the product to the actual conversion. It has long been a topic of contest and conjecture. We call them funnels because the probability of sales and proceeds gradually decreases at each step. Some people opt out, some lose interest, and some choose another portal. Had this not been the case, terming it as a marketing cylinder would have been better! In an ideal situation, all leads would turn into customers – ten on ten returns. The job of the marketers, hence, is to make sure that most of the leads are turned into customers so that their marketing funnels could distort its ways and turn into a marketing cylinder.
The marketing funnel concept can impact your business to generate sales in a controlled system. The funnel attracts prospects by consumer psychology, on-line incentives, social networking or other marketing mix. Prospects are drawn through the funnel under various stages of relationship development and brand awareness. The marketing concept turns prospects to a target audience to generate a sale.

Prospecting and marketing are all the things you do to get people into the first of your sales funnel stages. Note that stages are broken into two or more steps wherever possible. A demo could be called a single stage, but in real life it involves a lot of things: contacting the customer, sending reminders, doing the demo, and then following up. Whatever your own sales stages look like, the support you need in managing them will be the same.
If you don’t mind a bit of unsolicited feedback, Angie….as an overwhelmed business owner myself, you’ve described me quite well but I’m not believing that you’re going to be able to help me solve that problem because you haven’t given me anything about HOW you do that. Not even a hint :-). All I’m thinking is, “I’m not THAT much of an idiot…I know what I need to do. But who’s going to ______ and _____ and ______ while I take time to figure it all out?!”
I’ve lost the spark and am sleep walking through life. I wake up, eat breakfast, go to work, come home, eat dinner, watch TV, and go to sleep, then wake up and do it all over again. I have a nice car, live in a good neighborhood and am a foodie–who am I to complain? But I’m thirty pounds over weight, and my mind is my enemy. I want more energy and focus. I’ve lost connection with myself and those around me. I’m a hamster chained to a wheel, but I don’t know to escape this box I’ve put myself in.
And since mobile technologies give users the ability to search the web on-the-go, while standing, walking or even lying comfortably on the couch, the hunger to feel in control of website operations drives user expectations beyond conventional standards applicable only in the desktop arena. The ability to deliver mobile website content within this short attention span of around 2 seconds makes all the difference in winning customer loyalty and long-term business relationship with mobile internet users.
We also trained a deep neural network—a computer system modeled on the human brain and nervous system—with a large set of bounce and conversions data. The neural net, which had a 90% prediction accuracy, found that as page load time goes from one second to 10 seconds, the probability of a mobile site visitor bouncing increases 123%. Similarly, as the number of elements—text, titles, images—on a page goes from 400 to 6,000, the probability of conversion drops 95%.8
With all of the above suggested tips for increasing sales across your website, the one thing that is most important is to A/B test all of these changes. Every business is unique, which means that their customers are unique, and certain things will work for some businesses that won’t work for others. By A/B testing, you can be sure to find out what works best for your website. Here are a few tests you can perform across your site right now:
Problem: Many travelers (particularly American travelers, whose vacation time is at a premium) want to make sure they have the most authentic experience of a city. They don’t want to stand in line with the other tourists and come back with the same photos and stories. They don’t want to find out later that they got scammed. They definitely don’t want to feel like they missed out.
I once showed a client the glass doors on a home by demonstrating how they would be hurricane proof, slapping on both sides to evidence their construction quality. This immediately got the customer's full attention and set apart the product and me from the competition. Average doesn't pay in sales. Wow them with your presentation, your dress, your belief in the product and the service you offer.

Ecommerce giant Shopzilla saw a 50 percent reduction in its operational budget by shrinking page load times from 7 seconds to 2 seconds. Performance improvements with a website design overhaul enabled the company to utilize the same hardware resources to efficiently in processing the same amount of website user requests. The improved website responsiveness also increased revenues by 12 percent as the retail store accommodated expanding web traffic without prompting additional investments in consequently expanding hardware resources.
Principle of commitment & consistency -- When people commit to something, they're far more likely to purchase from you. That's why getting them to agree to something like a free + shipping offer or by agreeing with something you've said in some way. This is a powerful principle in sales and if you pay attention to some of the best marketers in the world, you'll notice that they work fervently to get your commitment to something, even if it's very small in the beginning.
My solution is we create an online video, get it to page one of Google in their specific niche, helping them with traffic by getting them on page one, as well as placing them on our site and exposing them to our traffic and finally, putting a call to action at the end of the video that offers them gift in exchange for their information (builds list)
Keeping the initial page speed high keeps visitors engaged even when the entire website content including bulky graphics take ages to render completely. Monitoring high initial page speed by tracking parameters such as Time to First Byte (TTFB) or performing ping requests from website servers accurately describe initial page load times and page speed statistics. If these take too long, work needs to be done at the back-end in the form of server-side and website core optimization.
Mediocre web hosts selling cost-effective services continue to maximize profitability by hosting thousands of websites on single instances of bloated Apache stacks. Un-optimized servers running thousands of public websites on a single server stack is particularly harmful to ecommerce websites characterized by uncontrollable web traffic spikes, multimedia content and large website files.
Here, I’ll explain what you need to know about the marketing funnel, and I’ll dive into recent changes and rising challenges for marketers. I’ll compare B2C and B2B uses of the funnel, break down the hype around the marketing vs. sales ownership debate, explain how the funnel can be flipped to create more leads, and explore nonlinear approaches to the funnel.

Additional website functionality with plugins comes at a price: performance degradation. Unfortunately, webmasters deploy a myriad of plugins to add attractive but often unnecessary features such as gravatar, profile tools, website stats and font tools – some even use 10 different plugins for social media integration. The only benefit here is successfully avoiding manual coding.
**Big Problem** It’s 10pm and you’re all settled in for a nice long slumber. The room is the perfect temperature, the bed is just right – not too soft, not too firm, your significant other is in cuddle-mode. All is right with the world as you drift off into dreamland. Two hours later you awake drenched in sweat! You strip down to your birthday suit, turn the thermostat to arctic freeze and push your shivering partner to the other side of the bed. You toss and turn for the next 40 minutes, then finally give up and head for the shower to try to cool down… only to have the entire episode repeat 20 minutes later. You’re dragging, unfocused and grouchy all the next day, as you continue to battle the periodic hot flashes. And you’ve probably been reliving this nightmare for years, with no end in sight!

Tempting as it may seem, selling too much real estate to third-party advertisers drastically degrades website performance. Too many ads or slow loading ads drive bounce rates and negatively impact online marketability. The financial losses that come with high bounce rates outweigh the monetary benefits of handing over vast website spaces to advertisers.
Maybe you’re more successful than I am, but I thought I’d defined a pain point, but I couldn’t sell a solution. Turned out that while it was a pain point, I had a hard time convincing them that it would make their lives easier. That’s what made me ask. YOU know that a certain website could be optimized better, but how do you plan to find someone with the problem and then convince them that the problem even exists in the first place? Someone else in here said it this way: they don’t know what they don’t know.
Fantastic post, I loved it and took a lot of it into consideration for ideas to incorporate. I’m a Front end web developer, I’m seeking to market myself as a designer and offer package deals for customers, I have yet to release my deals, in the past I’ve tried to develop websites for clients for free for cross promotion marketing and trade, unfortunately I always ended up putting together worthy projects and they under-delivered. I was so frustrated I couldn’t understand why they didn’t care about my success and I was doing my best in making their website and conversion rate successful. I then decided to offer these deals so that my clients can easily decide what package best fits their situation, do you have any tips to help maximize the the amount of packages I can potentially sale, or to better close the larger package deals?
First, though, you want to map out all the potential interactions users can have with your brand and assign them to the most relevant stage of our marketing funnel. For example, a first-time visitor on your site will fit into the “awareness” category while someone who has repeatedly visited the same product page probably fits in the “consideration” stage.
As a financial coach, my “perfect financial plan package” includes a 90 minute strategy session to determine what they really want their money to do for them, how they work, and where their behaviors have sabotaged those desires. Followed with a step by step action plan including a list of activities to shift the automatic behaviors that them away from the plan as well as any forms or scripts needed to address immediate sticky situations. This is coupled with 3 months of unlimited e-mail support and 3 follow up accountability sessions to tweak parts of the plan that might not be working and hold my clients accountable to making mature financial decisions that support the life they ultimately want to be living.

Regarding your AMP comment: you can use AMP on any type of website. How you implement it, kind of depends on how you have to add it to your site. If you have to hand-code it into 10.000 pages, it’s best to start with your most important pages. However, if you are a WordPress user, and don’t want to mess around with code too much, you can just install the official plugin and be done with it. Keep in mind that the current version of the plugin only works on posts, not pages.

Page speed is often confused with "site speed," which is actually the page speed for a sample of page views on a site. Page speed can be described in either "page load time" (the time it takes to fully display the content on a specific page) or "time to first byte" (how long it takes for your browser to receive the first byte of information from the web server).
